Livery Stables
Project Overview
The Livery Stable project entailed the renovation of an existing historic structure in Tarpon Springs, FL to accommodate a mass timber post-and-beam structure, CLT second floor deck, and roof. Sterling was contracted to provide the entire mass timber scope, including delegated mass design through longtime engineering consulting partner KPFF. This was Sterling’s first project utilizing all SPF-S panels, and the Glulam species was Douglas fir.
The mass timber addition was brought into the existing concrete masonry enclosure and erected from the inside out, with careful coordination with the installation team and as-built measurements from the site. The result was a low-rise, short-term rental structure that mixed historical utility with fresh biophilic elements.
